Demonstrating a customer service mindset is all about making customers feel important. Any time is the right time to do so! All employees should adopt a customer service mindset, whether or not they deal directly with customers on a regular basis. Guidelines for demonstrating a customer service mindset include considering customer needs, being accurate, and being efficient. Employees who interact with customers regularly can further demonstrate their customer service mindset by concentrating on the customer, using a pleasant tone of voice, smiling and making eye contact, using the customer’s name, listening carefully, being prepared to answer questions, handling complaints properly, thanking customers for their business, following through, and following up.
