This module (or "unit") is an orientation for your course in Canvas this semester. Before you do anything else in this course, please do the following:

Complete all of the activities located in this module. These actives are designed to be fun but also help you learn how to use Canvas at the same time. By working through these activities we hope that you will be very successful this semester and in future classes that you may have online, particularly through Canvas. Many colleges use Canvas or a similar learning management system (LMS) for students as well!

Objectives

The goal of this module or unit is to introduce you to the basics of remote learning through Canvas online and to familiarize you with how to use the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). The orientation includes a series of required activities designed to ensure you know how to use many of the course tools and resources.

Upon completion of this unit you should be able to:

Understand the basic navigation of Canvas.
Understand enough online basics to begin this course.
Understand course requirements after reading the Syllabus or course description.
Work within the structure of your course and understand how to use the tools to help you structure your time and meet the course deadlines.
Understand how to communicate in your course through email and discussions.
Know how to submit assignments.
Be able to take a quiz or exam.
